A Day at Home

  • Staying at Fujino for the Day

We stayed at home yesterday with lots of input about shibori and learning different techniques - this was a fun day and fairly intense doing lots of stitching and learning.

We went for a walk in the forest and in a break in the trees we saw Mt Fuji, snow covered in the very distance. My grandmother went to Japan in the early 1901 and I associate this mountain with her trip that time - wether she visited it or not I don't know. We also saw headstones in a little cemetery amongst the trees ... we saw different plants - wild violets were one plant, and Madders Friend was another. We also saw digging in mounds where wild board roam, as well as some wild boar skulls under a tree ...they roam in the bush/forest.

Two Shiba dogs live here which were rescued from Fukuchima - they are looked after beautifully and taken for walks every day. They both have had operations for cancer - one dog had 3 operations. They came with us on our walk.

We talked about Katazome to finish off our trip on Wednesday to Tokyo.
