Algonquin Provincial Park

Taken through the car window so slightly blurry - this spectacular sunrise in Algonquin one morning early when we went out very early bear and moose spotting. Needless to say we saw neither, but experienced this wonderful sunrise on the way.

We both fell in love with Algonquin Provincial Park ..... we went on a guided canoe trip around Canoe Lake for a day was such fun...... we paddled to where there was a cairn for Tom Thompson, an artist associated with the famous Canadian Group of 7 artists, who died mysteriously in 1917 - murder is suspected, but has never been proved - his body was exhumed a number of times and the story goes on in a very elaborate way.

Canoeing around Canoe Lake in the itty rain together with the white cedar trees and white pine, on the land, with branches lapping the water.

The road into Cache Lake early one morning when we went bear and moose spotting but didn't see either of these fantastic animals - someone said this would be the place to go at around 7-8am. However, they didn't appear unfortunately. The sunrise made up for it all though.
