We are having a lovely time not doing anything much during the weekdays as Hugh is working. Hugh is a builder/carpenter and is building houses on a site near here. He has another man he employs. He took us to his worksite last weekend to see one of the houses.

We have been reading, going for long walks and David has been going for bike rides. I have been doing some art and one day make these tiny inukshuks from stones we collected on our walks..... they are rounded pebbles, so am assuming they are river pebbles. There is a large river here called the Credit River which we cross 4-6 times to get to the nearby town called Georgetown, depending on which way we go.

Below are sketches I have done of Loons, a beautiful ducklike bird - I really love these birds. They have a haunting mournful call - When we were here in 2013, Hugh took us up to Algonquin Provincial Park where we saw one and heard them on the lake. I have found an hour long link for their calls and in Mooroolbark listen to it a lot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTH30m87yL4

Here is a not very good photo of the CA$1 coin with a loon on it - it is called a 'loonie"

Here is a quick sketch of what I think may be a White Pine in the trees around the garden here. The Group of Seven painted these in their landscapes - especially artist Tom Thompson when he was in Algonquin Provincial Park - there is such a different culture here in terms of geographical influence even though there is a similar base - British/European sort of.

David is reading Tess of the d'Urbervilles which is quite a sad story, so every now and again he tells me about it all and he gets over the sadness of the tale.
