TRIP TO CANADA FOR 3 MONTHS

We arrived from Australia via Dubai on 3 August 2016 - a very long flight but nice flying with Emirates. Our eldest son, Hugh met us at Pearson Airport and brought us here to Terracotta in the Caledon district of Ontario. It is a lovely country area with lots of trees and there are farms scattered around, mainly growing soy beans and corn crops. I really love seeing the huge barns which have an unusual shape.

So far we have seen American crows, an American Robin, a Red Tailed Hawke and a Turkey Vulture. We have come across a squirrel but haven't seen many animals, either wild or domestic. Farm animals are generally in feedlot situations, but we did see some Holstein cows grazing in a field at one stage. I really like it here - the farms are very neat (the majority) and have double storey houses.

We went to the Toronto Zoo one hot day-bear flopping in some water to keep cool, and a grizzly bear playing with a ball looking a trifle bored. The Arctic wolf took my eye with it's gaunt appearance and long thin legs. We have decided that we would prefer meeting venomous snake to meeting up with a Grizzly or Black Bear.
